Looking for a ‘Premium Finish’ at Fontana

KANNAPOLIS, North Carolina (March 16, 2016) – Danica Patrick and the No. 10 TaxAct Chevrolet SS team for Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR) enter this weekend’s Auto Club 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race in Fontana, California looking to build on their recent performance and score a “Premium Finish” at the 2-mile track.

Last Sunday, Patrick started the race at Phoenix International Raceway from the 36th position after a subpar qualifying session. Once the race started, she began picking off positions and managed to gain 17 spots over the course of the race to score a 19th-place finish – her best result thus far in 2016.

As the No. 10 team moves on to Fontana this week, it is looking to continue accomplishing stronger on-track marks. Sunday’s race will mark the first of four events where TaxAct will serve as the primary sponsor on Patrick’s No. 10 Chevrolet, and the official tax preparation software partner of SHR and Patrick are looking for good results from the team, as well.

Long known for being the best deal during tax season, TaxAct beginning this weekend is offering race fans the chance to purchase its top-tier online tax preparation and filing solution at a highly discounted price. If Patrick or any member of the SHR team grabs a top-10 finish in select upcoming races, fans can register to file their 2015 federal and state tax returns using the TaxAct Online Premium Bundle for only $10 (originally priced at $49.98). This gives filers access to the federal and state forms needed to complete their return no matter how complex their situation, all in, for $10 (offer and pricing subject to change). In the event none of the SHR drivers finish in the top-10 in those select races, a $10 discount off federal returns will be extended to honor the savings opportunity.

Tax filers can get a “Premium Finish” starting Sunday with the running of the Auto Club 400, with applicable discounted pricing available through the following Saturday (offer and pricing subject to change). TaxAct will offer additional opportunities for NASCAR fans to file returns with “Premium Finish” pricing for the races following the Auto Club 400 up to the tax filing deadline on April 18 (April 19 for residents of Massachusetts and Maine). Fans can lock in their “Premium Finish” price online by visiting With TaxAct’s Price Lock Guarantee, filers are guaranteed to pay the price offered at the time they register, no matter when they choose to file.

Sunday’s race will mark Patrick’s fourth Sprint Cup start at Auto Club Speedway and her best finish to date at the 2-mile oval is a 14th-place effort she earned in March 2014. Entering this weekend’s race, Patrick and her No. 10 TaxAct Chevrolet team will be looking to improve upon her past results in an effort to score a “Premium Finish” and, in turn, help fans get a great deal on their taxes.

DANICA PATRICK, Driver of the No. 10 TaxAct Chevrolet SS for Stewart-Haas Racing:

What are your overall thoughts on Fontana?

“Fontana’s pavement has not aged gracefully (laughs), so it makes for a challenging race. It’s a challenge to set up the car – the seams move the car around a lot. It’s very fast, yet you still have to get the car to rotate and it seems really tight off of (turn) two. It’s one of the tougher places to get the balance right. But, if you do strike a good balance in practice, you have a chance to have a really good day on Sunday.”

TaxAct is back as the primary sponsor on your No. 10 Chevrolet this weekend at Fontana and they just launched a new “Premium Finish” program. Talk about that.

“Choosing to file your taxes with TaxAct is a no-brainer. The company has always been the best deal in tax and their new ‘Premium Finish’ simply sweetens the deal. I’m glad we can help the NASCAR community discover how easy and affordable filing your own taxes can be with TaxAct.”

I had worked with Mike Arning and True Speed while employed by The Home Depot. When I moved on to another assignment and had the need to find a reliable and creative motorsports public relations program for SunTrust and its sponsorship in the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series, our search led straight to True Speed. We brought them on board for the last four races of the 2006 season and they immediately jump-started our publicity efforts, landing hits in USA Today and in each local market of interest to us. Considering that the Rolex Series is on the periphery of the motorsports spectrum, we know that getting through to the racing media is no small achievement. That is why True Speed Communication began representing our motorsports publicity efforts full-time in 2007 with a dedicated account rep. Their reputation for professionalism and keen journalistic sense among the most influential members of the racing media is second to none."
