Looking To Get Found
KANNAPOLIS, N.C. – With the madness of Daytona Speedweeks and the two-week West Coast swing now complete, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series moves into a bit of a normal stretch.
Teams and drivers spent 12 days in Daytona Beach, Fla., preparing for the 56th Daytona 500, and then the majority of them spent an additional 12 days out West in Phoenix and Las Vegas for races two and three on the Sprint Cup Series schedule.
This week’s Food City 500 Sprint Cup race represents the “second” start of the season and everyone begins to get into a groove and a routine after a hectic first month.
Danica Patrick, driver of the No. 10 GoDaddy/Get Found Chevrolet SS for Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR), is hoping to build on what was a solid run at Las Vegas Motor Speedway last weekend after two rough weeks to start the season.
She was involved in accidents not of her making at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway and at Phoenix International Raceway and finished 40th and 36th, respectively.
At Las Vegas, she and the No. 10 team rebounded and were fast most of the weekend. She posted the fifth-fastest lap during Thursday afternoon’s four-hour test session and then was 13th-fastest in Friday’s practice session.
During knockout-style qualifying, Patrick posted the 10th-fastest lap during round one and advanced to round two, where she placed herself 22nd on the starting grid. From there, she continued to raise some eyebrows by turning the sixth-fastest lap in Saturday morning’s practice session and the fastest 10-lap average.
Patrick rolled off 22nd in the race, fell to 30th in the early going and went a lap down, but she fought her way to a respectable 21st-place result. Her lap times through the second half of the race were among those of the leaders, so there were positive takeaways from the weekend – especially after the previous two weeks.
While Patrick and the GoDaddy team have “found” speed, they’ll also be helping GoDaddy customers “get found” online through the next four races. A special GoDaddy/Get Found logo will appear on the green Chevrolet at upcoming races at Bristol, Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, Calif., Martinsville (Va.) Speedway and Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth.
GoDaddy, the world’s largest technology provider dedicated to small businesses, expanded its product portfolio in late January with the introduction of Get Found, which helps small businesses attract new customers via popular destinations including Google, Yahoo, Facebook and Yelp.
Using GoDaddy Get Found, businesses can publish critical information like location, phone number, hours of operation, as well as service lists, menus and photos on search engines, social media, top local sites and mobile apps. Additionally, having updated and accurate information across various popular websites increases a customer’s visibility in search engine results.
When consumers search for businesses and see inaccurate or conflicting information, they often go elsewhere. When a business signs up for Get Found and provides its business location, services, contact information, etc., the correct information is automatically pushed everywhere. Business owners are then also able to track where their business is showing up online and verify the correct material is displayed.
Customers using Get Found at launch will be showcased on the Web, mobile sites and apps including Google, Yahoo, Bing, Yelp, Foursquare, YP (Yellowpages), Citysearch, TripAdvisor, OpenTable, Local.com, Judy’s Book, MerchantCircle and MojoPages.
Get Found is an evolution of the Locu product, which GoDaddy acquired in August 2013.
While helping small business “Get Found,” Patrick, crew chief Tony Gibson and the rest of the GoDaddy/Get Found team will look to “find” more success and build on the momentum they have coming out of Las Vegas.

Overall thoughts heading into Bristol?
“I’ve liked Bristol since I went there the first time. I remember when I set foot onto that track, it was the day before, it was load-in day and I looked out there and you’re standing on the straightaway, but it sure seems like a corner. It’s a very cool track and a spectacle for the fans. I feel like that is always the one that everyone says, ‘I want to come see a Bristol race.’ It’s always entertaining there for the fans and, hopefully, we can put on another good show for them this week.”
Thoughts coming out of Vegas?
“For us on the 10 car, we were really good all weekend. The guys gave me a great car. The weakest session we had all weekend was the last practice. I’m really happy with the cars this year. I was running with the leaders the last half of the race, but I was a lap down. Unfortunately, one car always stayed out (rather than pitting), so we couldn’t get our lap back (via the wave-around). And we just missed the Lucky Dog spot.”
How crucial was it for you and the team to have a good weekend after bad luck the first two races?
“It was huge. When things go bad, it can snowball quickly, but everyone kept his head up and kept working hard. And that can be hard to do when things get tough. The biggest thing I kept reminding myself was that we had really good cars. We just got taken out in accidents that we didn’t start. Our cars have been awesome all year and that’s a product of a lot of hard work by Tony Gibson and all the guys. I’m proud of their effort and I think we’ve got a lot of good days ahead. I’m excited for the next few races.”
Your GoDaddy Chevrolet has the logo of “Get Found” on it for the next four races. Talk about that.
“GoDaddy is all about helping small business succeed and this is another part of that. Being online is essential, but being able to be found online is even more important, and GoDaddy’s ‘Get Found’ product helps small business get found when people search for them on the Web and through Apps. On top of that, it makes sure that the information about the business is accurate, from location to hours of operation and phone numbers. It’s something you don’t really think about but is extremely important. It seems like, every month, GoDaddy comes out with something new and helpful for small business and this is a prime example of that. It’s a very cool feature.”
